Defining the term MORON

Gregory, you are something of a moron if you cannot realize that the statement "religious people cannot do credible math or science" is obviously false if I can find one half-way decent scientist or mathematician who had some religious or spiritual dimension to their life. I will say to your credit that you are a well-read. I enjoyed that Tao of Physics.   Gregory, if you accept my above statement that religion/atheism has no bearing upon science/math ability BUT  you want to quibble about whether one may "rigorously define" a notion such as "higher power" then your a very different sort of moron since you fail to realize that one cannot RIGOROUSLY define "red" or "justice" or "beauty" or "wisdom" or any number of other things and yet those words are not meaningless to people and people who are not morons can have meaningful discussions and some of those discussions have been collected by Plato as dialogues. All I needed to do to refute my ex-friend Lair is to find some pharmacist or physician who takes communion or wears a yarmulke or chants mantras daily and India alone is FILLED with such people.

Now if you are the sort of person who likes to try and win arguments by saying that key issues cannot be clearly and rigorously defined then you are a moron to persist in argument, since no definitive agreement can ever be arrived at. I watched a few morons go through all four years of St. John's seminars by simply wrinkling their nose and looking perplexed and saying "but I don't get it" or "that doesn't make sense" and they NEVER GOT OFF their backsides and tried to constructively assert some positive idea and take a chance that they might be REFUTED. If you never attempt to do anything then you certainly will never suffer failure. Yet the nose-wrinkling of those morons was counted unto them as righteousness and participation.

All of the world is basically divided into LIMB CRAWLERS and LIMB SAWYERS. A limb crawler has the courage and ambition to crawl way out on a limb, and TAKE A RISK, assembling together many and various points and passages in order to assert something new, something important.

LIMB SAWYERS are a parasitic species. They cannot exist without a LIMB CRAWLER. They hack away at whatever constructive effort the limb crawler is making. If they succeed, what they succeed in is simply refuting the limb crawler.

So, Gregory, if in your next several posts you put together some positive statements or assertions regarding how you understand things  and take the RISK that you might be wrong or inaccurate them perhaps I will have a higher opinion of your intellectual abilities. But what you seem to have done so far is say that you don't understand and its not clear. In face I THINK I saw one post in which you could not even figure out if I am addressing you or someone else and you cannot understand what the thread is all about.

As an exercise perhaps I will go through the thread and try to summarize the essence of your positive statements and contributions.

Robin certainly seems to be able to make positive statements that go beyond equivocating.
