For the record... there are something like 6.7 billion humans on the planet. 1.7 billion are "christian" with one billion (the majority) being Roman Catholic, 300 million being Eastern Orthodox and the other 500 million are the "Protestants" divided into 2000 sects.  There are probably 1.7 billion Muslims in the world.  There are 1 billion in China and 1 billion in India.  Africa has only 18% of the world's population because the Sahara Desert is LARGER than the USA... BUT Africa has over 80 % of the HIV/AIDS infections.  It took until around 1860 for the world's population to reach ONE billion, but by 1930 it had DOUBLED to two billion... by 1960s it had tripled to 6 billion, ... by 2030 it is estimated to reach 20 billion  .... so YES the largest chunk of christians are the Roman Catholics ...   there are 12 million Jews and 19 million Sikhs (the guys who drive cabs and wear turbans in NYC) ... there are 3 million Jains there are 6 million Ba'hai BUT there are only 300,000 Parsi Zoroastrians ...  as of 1960s there were only 2 Shaker women left... and now I am sure there are none, but I would have to google.
