How odd that you find two-faced hypocrisy odd. Remember how William Randolph Hearst sent telegrams to all editors "PUFF BILLY GRAHAM." Hurst was not religious. Hurst saw Graham as a political tool. Eisenhower was only baptized in the week after his first inauguration. Eisenhower was not religious. The ideological enemy was atheist Communism, so one need to counter that with a religious capitalism. Graham brought the religion and Rand brought the capitalism. You dont really believe that any of those politicians had beliefs, ethics, ideals, values... they had agendas, tactics, rhetoric...  Reagan used the evangelicals to achieve his ends and promised them all sorts of legislation but never made any real efforts to follow through on passing said legislation.  Since the one thing Jesus really condemned was divorce then IF America were sincere they would criminalize divorce, but they do not. Just some quick thoughts/reactions..
