New Fangled Things
WHENEVER I have to join some NEW unknown forum and post something (like a support request for some antivirus ) then I click preview just to see how the thing works. For YEARS I have been in the habit of copying and pasting to an open text file simply so I do not lose a lot of typing. Once I am familiar with a site I rarely if ever use PREVIEW. If it is some simply comment and I have the ability to delete and repost then that becomes my work-around for lack of preview. Even with a PREVIEW feature a long, complex post that took 20 minutes to think out could possibly be lost so I past it to a text file first. Whenever I create any post of general interest I past it into Gmail, email it to posterous.com and it reposts in Twitter, Plurk, a Blogspot, a Tumblr and a few other places. I am a terrible speller so I depend on built-in spell checkers. I often Google on some word or phrase if I am uncertain of usage. I am age 62 so like many senior citizens I tend to be stuck in or comfortable with the past. I dont mind black and white or small tv screens and I have no desire for 3D. I know some older people who never use answering machines or microwaves.
