Internet Radio
My wife is an ultra-devout Roman Catholic who listens for many hours each day to an Internet Radio Station (cant remember KJMA I think out of Floresville, Texas) and to catholic.tv and a show called The Vortex by Michael Voris who strikes me as something of a fanatic. Each show begins with eerie outer-space music and then Michael says "Welcome to the VORTEX where lies and deceptions are exposed" - then he proceeds to say how most of the world is hopeless and many Catholics are doing something wrong and many bishops/cardinals are in error. He ends each show by saying "God bless/ God love" and I am left wondering what there is to love or bless since everything and everyone are so morally bankrupt. Many of the other shows are intellectually stimulating if one has some knowledge of and interest in theology. I was raised with no religion, became Greek Orthodox Christian at age 23, and then lapsed after 20 years. My avocation for 20 years has been the study of comparative world religions. Yesterday, however, she listened to a FOUR HOUR LONG broadcast about The Knights of Columbus and I found it very repetitive and boring and I suppose somewhat bombastic.
