There is no Friendship or Forgiveness
I find no value in friendship or humor. If someone chooses to read what I post they do so in the hopes of learning something different or seeing things in a different way. Most of humanity is incapable of friendship or gratitude or loyalty or respect. A pessimist is an optimist with on-the-job training. Friendship is a meaningless word. Forgiveness is also a meaningless word. Every word an action is an indelible "handwriting on the wall" which stands for all eternity and springs from one's innermost nature. It is not possible to excuse or forgive or forget the fault. If "forgive" means anything at all it means "ignore." Derrida said "Forgiveness if it ever occurs at all occurs in the face of the unforgivable such as Hiroshima or Auschwitz." It is possible to transform one's nature and character but only with great difficulty. Most people go through life committing the same wretched actions and loudly shouting "EXCUSE ME" as they elbow their way through some crowd of elderly disabled people. Gandhi in his autobiographical "Experiments in Truth" explained that he rejected Christianity because the Christians he saw in Great Britain would sin in the most casual fashion and then explain to him that they are constantly, mystically washed in their baptismal waters and cleansed by the blood of Christ's substitutional atonement and Gandhi explained "I do not seek simply to escape the consequences of my wrong-doing but if possible I want to extinguish wrong-doing at its very source."
