Swiss Army Knife Syndrome
We can be certain that no matter WHAT we buy or when we buy it, in six months there will be something newer, better, cheaper: Murphy's and Moore's laws. On the other hand it can be a mistake to look for a Swiss Army Knife which can be all things to all people. It is fun to read a Kindle, light weight, small. If 5 hours of battery life is not enough then perhaps you should take a physical book rather than an electronic device. If you have desktops at home then you can do desktop things on the desktop. IF you live out of a suitcase and travel then you want the most powerful and sturdy laptop and perhaps cloud storage.
